On her way back via a Suspension Rail Car, the vehicle's operation was suspended due to a report that there was a Vár Outbreak in Barette City. Sure enough, a Vár Syndrome-infected victim was in the car with them. Facing certain doom after being knocked down by the rampaging berserker, Freyja mustered up all of her courage to sing, curing the victim. Watching her the whole time disguised as the other passengers in the rail car, Mikumo, Makina and Reina later reveal themselves to announce that she passed with flying colors. Apparently, the whole thing was an elaborate set-up by Walküre and Chaos to bring out Freyja's true potential. Even the Vár Syndrome "victim" was a just a mechanic outfitted with special effects makeup and gear.[2]
Freyja was with Kaname as they fled the battlefield, a couple of missiles hot on their heels. Kaname pushed her away just in time and under this high-stress situation, Freyja was finally able to land smoothly with her gas-jet clusters. Relief was brief however, as she came face-to-face with a VF-171 that had a Vár-infected NUNS pilot, which Hayate shoves aside before a shot was taken. Both had no choice but to hold their position, as the berserker was relentless.
In ZAC 2230, the Zi-Arms corporation found the wreckage of a Death Saurer. Using technologies developed for the Chimera Blox, they revived it in a new form, the Mega Death Saurer. However, the Zoid went berserk and attacked everything around it, destroying the Zi-Arms forces. In the end, the combined power of the three legendary Tiger Zoids, Whitz Tiger, Rayse Tiger, and Brastle Tiger was required to destroy it.
The Death Saurer first appeared in Zoids: Chaotic Century, as a major part of the central plot of the series. It is depicted as an extraordinarily evil Zoid with a will of its own, and is able to possess the Imperial regent, Gunther Prozen, who then sought to revive the Death Saurer by secretly using Raven to collect Zoid Cores. He then amalgamates these cores, and ultimately is successful in reviving the Zoid. It is first seen in Episode 32, where it goes berserk in response to Fiona's presence.
